The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 102%. Exports by Country
Peru (X tons) was the main destination for twine and cordage exports from Chile, with a 87% share of total exports. Moreover, twine and cordage exports to Peru exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Paraguay (X tons), more than tenfold. Mexico (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 2.2% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Peru amounted to +6.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Paraguay (+6.4% per year) and Mexico (-0.7% per year).
In value terms, Peru ($X) remains the key foreign market for twine, cordage, rope and cables exports from Chile, comprising 36% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Mexico ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by Paraguay, with an 8.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Peru totaled +8.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Mexico (+1.0% per year) and Paraguay (+6.2% per year).

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($X per ton), while the price for India ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
