In value terms, bottled water imports contracted to $X in 2022. Overall, imports posted a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 51%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then dropped in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, France (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of bottled water to China, accounting for a 30% share of total imports. Moreover, bottled water imports from France exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Thailand (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by New Zealand (X tons), with an 8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from France stood at +19.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Thailand (+89.3% per year) and New Zealand (+34.6% per year).
In value terms, France ($X) constituted the largest supplier of bottled waters to China, comprising 50% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Thailand ($X), with a 21% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy, with a 10% share.
