Non-Electric Chainsaw Market Size in China

After five years of decline, the Chinese non-electric chainsaw market increased by 325% to $X in 2022. In general, consumption, however, recorded a abrupt decrease. Non-electric chainsaw consumption peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, non-electric chainsaw production contracted to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. After two years of growth, overseas shipments of chainsaws with a self-contained non-electric motor decreased by -16.9% to X units in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a temperate increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 35%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2021, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, non-electric chainsaw exports contracted markedly to $X in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +51.4% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 29%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then plummeted in the following year.

Russia (X units), India (X units) and Thailand (X units) were the main destinations of non-electric chainsaw exports from China, together comprising 20% of total exports. The Philippines, Germany, Brazil, Poland, Mexico, Indonesia, the United States, Romania, France and Argentina lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 36%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the Philippines (with a CAGR of +58.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Russia ($X), Germany ($X) and Poland ($X) were the largest markets for non-electric chainsaw exported from China worldwide, with a combined 18% share of total exports. India, the United States, Thailand, Brazil, Mexico, Indonesia, France, Romania, Argentina and the Philippines lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 35%.

The Philippines, with a CAGR of +35.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average non-electric chainsaw export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, with a decrease of -3.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a mild decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 19%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of chainsaws with a self-contained non-electric motor increased by 40% to X units, rising for the second consecutive year after five years of decline. In general, total imports indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +77.7% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, non-electric chainsaw imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +67.3% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 31%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
