In 2022, overseas purchases of cinnamon (canella) were finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports posted a modest expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 157% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, cinnamon imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 98% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2020; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.

Indonesia (X tons), Vietnam (X tons) and Myanmar (X tons) were the main suppliers of cinnamon imports to China, together accounting for 100% of total imports.
