Diethanolamine Market Size in China

The Chinese diethanolamine market shrank markedly to $X in 2021, which is down by -17.4% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). Overall, the total consumption indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last nine-year period. In 2021, after seven years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of diethanolamine and its salts, when their volume decreased by -24.5% to X tons. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 40%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then fell dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, diethanolamine imports reduced to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed prominent growth. In 2021, Saudi Arabia (X tons) constituted the largest diethanolamine supplier to China, with a 58% share of total imports. Moreover, diethanolamine imports from Saudi Arabia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Malaysia (X tons), fivefold.
