In general, imports continue to indicate a prominent expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, imports of domestic, non-electric, cooking or heating appliances rose notably to $X in 2021. Overall, imports recorded a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 43% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, the largest domestic, non-electric, cooking or heating appliance suppliers to China were Japan ($X), Germany ($X) and Italy ($X), with a combined 51% share of total imports. France, the United States, Taiwan (Chinese), the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Spain, Vietnam and Hong Kong SAR lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 37%.
Hong Kong SAR, with a CAGR of +87.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average import price for domestic, non-electric, cooking or heating appliances amounted to $X per ton, waning by -25.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average import price increased by 72% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2018 to 2021, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
