The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +73.5% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 19%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Imports by Country
In 2021, Germany (X units) constituted the largest automotive lighting supplier to China, accounting for a 40% share of total imports. Moreover, automotive lighting imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Slovakia (X units), threefold. Japan (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 10% share.

Among the main suppliers, Poland, with a CAGR of +61.9%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average automotive lighting import price amounted to $X per unit, remaining stable against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, automotive lighting import price increased by +1.8% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the average import price increased by 56% against the previous year.
