Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, fire-fighting vehicle exports rose significantly to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 115% against the previous year. Myanmar (X units) was the main destination for fire-fighting vehicle exports from China, accounting for a 27% share of total exports. Moreover, fire-fighting vehicle exports to Myanmar exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Lao People's Democratic Republic (X units), threefold. The Philippines (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 7% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Myanmar amounted to +33.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Lao People's Democratic Republic (-6.4% per year) and the Philippines (+16.7% per year).

In value terms, Myanmar ($X), Indonesia ($X) and the Philippines ($X) were the largest markets for fire-fighting vehicle exported from China worldwide, with a combined 29% share of total exports. Nigeria, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Tajikistan, Cambodia, Gabon, Congo, Uruguay, South Korea and Vietnam lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 32%.

In terms of the main countries of destination, Gabon, with a CAGR of +94.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average fire-fighting vehicle export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 8.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by 13% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2016 to 2021, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Myanmar ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, overseas purchases of fire-fighting vehicles decreased by -12.8% to X units, falling for the second consecutive year after five years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 70%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, fire-fighting vehicle imports shrank notably to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 259%. Imports peaked at $X in 2020, and then dropped notably in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2021, Germany (X units) constituted the largest fire-fighting vehicle supplier to China, accounting for a 19% share of total imports. Moreover, fire-fighting vehicle imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X units), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Finland (X units), with a 9% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Germany stood at +41.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (0.0% per year) and Finland (+20.3% per year).

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when the average import price increased by 111%.
