As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, exports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments dropped sharply to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 232%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.

The United States (X units) was the main destination for exports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments from China, accounting for a 31% share of total exports. Moreover, exports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X units), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Spain (X units), with a 6.4% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the United States totaled +7.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+8.6% per year) and Spain (+12.1% per year).

In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the key foreign market for non-woven, felt and coated textile garments exports from China, comprising 20% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with an 8.6% share of total exports. It was followed by the UK, with a 6.1% share.

After two years of growth, purchases abroad of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments decreased by -24.6% to X units in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 170%. Imports peaked at X units in 2020, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, imports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments declined notably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 175%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2021, the United Arab Emirates (X units) constituted the largest non-woven, felt and coated textile garment supplier to China, with a 59% share of total imports. Moreover, imports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments from the United Arab Emirates exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Vietnam (X units), twofold. Cambodia (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 4.8% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from the United Arab Emirates stood at +60.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Vietnam (+20.9% per year) and Cambodia (+25.9% per year).

In value terms, the largest non-woven, felt and coated textile garment suppliers to China were Vietnam ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Cambodia ($X), together comprising 71% of total imports.

The United Arab Emirates, with a CAGR of +78.2%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The average import price for non-woven, felt and coated textile garments stood at $X per unit in 2021, dropping by -50.4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the average import price increased by 83%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
