Insecticide Market Size in China

In 2021, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in the Chinese insecticide market, when its value decreased by -23% to $X. In general, the total consumption indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the last nine years. Thailand (X tons), the Philippines (X tons) and Ghana (X tons) were the main destinations of insecticide exports from China, with a combined 18% share of total exports. Brazil, Vietnam, Nigeria, Cambodia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Chile, Peru and Pakistan lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 37%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Myanmar (with a CAGR of +55.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Brazil ($X), Thailand ($X) and Bangladesh ($X) were the largest markets for insecticide exported from China worldwide, with a combined 23% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Vietnam, Indonesia, Nigeria, the Philippines, Peru, Chile, Ghana, Cambodia, Pakistan and Myanmar, which together accounted for a further 29%.

Cambodia, with a CAGR of +42.9%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average insecticide export price amounted to $X per ton, rising by 7.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price posted a modest increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 244%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2017 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Myanmar ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Singapore, with a CAGR of +257.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average insecticide import price amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 9.4% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.2%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 14% against the previous year. The import price peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
