Japan (X units), Australia (X units) and Canada (X units) were the main destinations of mattress support exports from China, together comprising 44% of total exports. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 99%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

In value terms, mattress support imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports posted a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 71% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Imports by Country

In 2021, New Zealand (X units) constituted the largest mattress support supplier to China, with a 66% share of total imports. Moreover, mattress support imports from New Zealand exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X units), sevenfold. Japan (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 5.7% share.

The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
