The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 4,584%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, crude palm oil imports fell markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a sharp slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 4,879%. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Indonesia (X tons) was the main supplier of crude palm oil to China, accounting for a 99% share of total imports. It was followed by Malaysia (X tons), with a 1.4% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Indonesia stood at -44.2%.
In value terms, Indonesia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of crude palm oil to China, comprising 98% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Malaysia ($X), with a 1.5% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Indonesia totaled -43.7%.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average crude palm oil import price amounted to $X per ton, declining by -20.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern.
