The Chinese razor market was estimated at $X in 2021, flattening at the previous year. Over the period under review, the total consumption indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the last nine years. The United States (X tons) was the main destination for razor exports from China, with a 17% share of total exports. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, razor imports rose markedly to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 57% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Poland (X tons), the United States (X tons) and Japan (X tons) were the main suppliers of razor imports to China, with a combined 53% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Germany, Vietnam, Greece, Pakistan, Mexico, South Korea and Israel, which together accounted for a further 42%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Germany (with a CAGR of +55.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
