In value terms, safety valve exports surged to $X in 2021. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 45%. The United States (X units), Thailand (X units) and India (X units) were the main destinations of safety valve exports from China, together accounting for 38% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Thailand (with a CAGR of +48.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the key foreign market for safety or relief valves for pipes, boiler shells, tanks and vats exports from China, comprising 16% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Thailand ($X), with a 6.5% share of total exports. It was followed by Canada, with a 5.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to the United States amounted to +5.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Thailand (+30.8% per year) and Canada (+26.9% per year).

The average safety valve export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+11.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into China
After two years of decline, supplies from abroad of safety or relief valves for pipes, boiler shells, tanks and vats increased by 36% to X units in 2021. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Imports peaked at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, safety valve imports expanded notably to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 16%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
Germany (X units), Japan (X units) and Taiwan (Chinese) (X units) were the main suppliers of safety valve imports to China, together comprising 51% of total imports. South Korea, Italy, the United States, the Czech Republic, the UK, Spain, Romania and France lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 39%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Romania (with a CAGR of +55.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), the United States ($X) and Japan ($X) were the largest safety valve suppliers to China, together accounting for 52% of total imports. Italy, South Korea, the Czech Republic, the UK, Taiwan (Chinese), France, Romania and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 35%.
Among the main suppliers, Romania, with a CAGR of +48.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average safety valve import price amounted to $X per unit, falling by -21.8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a noticeable contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2020, and then fell notably in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($X per unit), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+6.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
