In 2021, the average semiconductor device export price amounted to $X per unit, which is down by -13.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 63% against the previous year. In value terms, semiconductor device imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 33%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, the Philippines (X units) constituted the largest supplier of semiconductor device to China, with a 19% share of total imports. Moreover, semiconductor device imports from the Philippines exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Thailand (X units), twofold. Japan (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 3.8% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from the Philippines totaled +24.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Thailand (+25.3% per year) and Japan (-22.2% per year).
