In 2022, imports of sesame oil into China declined significantly to X tons, with a decrease of -56.4% on 2021. Over the period under review, imports faced a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 42% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, sesame oil imports surged to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a perceptible decline. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Japan (X tons), India (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main suppliers of sesame oil imports to China, with a combined 87% share of total imports.
