In 2022, purchases abroad of transistors, other than photosensitive transistors decreased by X% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2021, and then fell in the following year.
In value terms, transistor imports expanded sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
Malaysia (X units), Taiwan (Chinese) (X units) and South Korea (X units) were the main suppliers of transistor imports to China, with a combined X% share of total imports. The Philippines, Japan, Thailand and Mexico lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.
