The volume of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, exports of acrylic polymers, in primary forms (excluding polymethyl methacrylate) surged to $X in 2021. In general, exports saw significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 53%. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

Imports of acrylic polymers, in primary forms (excluding polymethyl methacrylate) expanded notably to X tons in 2021, picking up by 7.1% on the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 11%. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Kazakhstan (+4.9 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+3.4 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Russia saw its share reduced by -8.2% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported acrylic polymers, in primary forms (excluding polymethyl methacrylate) in the CIS, comprising 76% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 7.8% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 7.4% share.

In Russia, imports of acrylic polymers, in primary forms (excluding polymethyl methacrylate) increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kazakhstan (+9.0% per year) and Belarus (+1.4% per year).
