Aniline Derivatives Market Size in CIS

Overall, exports recorded a abrupt descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when exports increased by 42% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, aniline derivatives exports rose notably to $X in 2021. In general, exports recorded a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 34%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, Russia (X tons) was the main exporter of aniline derivatives and their salts in the CIS, creating 100% of total export.

Russia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the aniline derivatives and their salts exports, with a CAGR of -7.5% from 2012 to 2021. The shares of the largest exporters remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) also remains the largest aniline derivatives supplier in the CIS.

Imports in CIS

After three years of decline, overseas purchases of aniline derivatives and their salts increased by 7.7% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a dramatic contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 8.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, aniline derivatives imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a sharp reduction. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Kazakhstan was the largest importing country with an import of about X tons, which recorded 77% of total imports. Russia (X tons) took a 14% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Kyrgyzstan (7.2%).

Imports into Kazakhstan decreased at an average annual rate of -18.1% from 2012 to 2021. Kyrgyzstan (-2.4%) and Russia (-32.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Kazakhstan (+30 p.p.) and Kyrgyzstan (+6.3 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Russia saw its share reduced by -37.9% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.

In value terms, the largest aniline derivatives importing markets in the CIS were Kazakhstan ($X), Russia ($X) and Kyrgyzstan ($X), with a combined 94% share of total imports.

Kyrgyzstan, with a CAGR of -5.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 15% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 15% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Kazakhstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+10.6%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
