Imports into Russia decreased at an average annual rate of -2.0% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+55.8%), Tajikistan (+36.4%), Armenia (+15.3%) and Moldova (+9.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +55.8% from 2012-2022. Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Belarus (-2.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Tajikistan, Armenia, Uzbekistan and Moldova increased by +9.3, +6.7, +4.5 and +2.1 percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported animal and pet feed in the CIS, comprising 61% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with an 8.4% share of total imports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with a 7.5% share.
