Russia prevails in exports structure, recording X tons, which was approx. 89% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons), comprising a 7.8% share of total exports. Kazakhstan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Exports from Russia increased at an average annual rate of +11.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Kazakhstan (+47.1%) and Belarus (+4.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kazakhstan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +47.1% from 2012-2021. In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest antisera supplier in the CIS, comprising 87% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with a 9.7% share of total exports.
In Russia, antisera exports increased at an average annual rate of +11.9% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+45.8% per year) and Kazakhstan (+24.0% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2021, shrinking by -8.1% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.7%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 32% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per ton), while Kazakhstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (+39.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of antisera and other blood fractions increased by 12% to X tons, rising for the sixth year in a row after three years of decline. Total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +111.7% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 25%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, antisera imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 68% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
Russia prevails in imports structure, reaching X tons, which was near 82% of total imports in 2021. Belarus (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 7.9% share, followed by Kazakhstan (4.5%). Uzbekistan (X tons) held a relatively small share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to antisera imports into Russia stood at +3.6%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+26.1%), Belarus (+23.4%) and Kazakhstan (+8.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +26.1% from 2012-2021. While the share of Belarus (+6 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+1.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Russia (-10.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported antisera and other blood fractions in the CIS, comprising 83% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 10% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 4.2% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia amounted to +7.1%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Kazakhstan (+14.1% per year) and Belarus (+11.9% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 33% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.8%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the import price increased by 37%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per ton), while Uzbekistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
