Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then declined slightly in the following year.

In value terms, non-malleable cast iron articles exports amounted to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the last decade. From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to non-malleable cast iron articles exports from Belarus stood at -3.1%. At the same time, Azerbaijan (+111.3%) and Kazakhstan (+22.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Azerbaijan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +111.3% from 2012-2022. Russia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. In 2022, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, surging by 7.9% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the export price increased by 18%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Azerbaijan ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+5.7%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in CIS

Non-malleable cast iron articles imports contracted modestly to X tons in 2022, dropping by -3.6% compared with 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 29% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 30%. Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Belarus (+13.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +13.9% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-6.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Russia and Belarus increased by +8 and +7.9 percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported articles of non-malleable cast iron in the CIS, comprising 77% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 15% share of total imports.
