Circuit Breaker Market Size in CIS
The CIS circuit breaker market dropped slightly to $X in 2022, standing approx. at the previous year. In general, consumption showed a perceptible decrease. In value terms, circuit breaker production reduced to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, recorded a deep contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the production volume increased by 6.7% against the previous year. The level of production peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

After two years of decline, overseas shipments of automatic circuit breakers increased by 8% to X units in 2022. Total exports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
In value terms, circuit breaker exports reached $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 29% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
In 2022, Russia (X units) represented the major exporter of automatic circuit breakers, making up 74% of total exports. Kazakhstan (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 13% share, followed by Belarus (9.5%). The following exporters - Armenia (X units) and Moldova (X units) - each amounted to a 3.2% share of total exports.
Exports from Russia increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Moldova (+95.3%), Armenia (+82.0%), Kazakhstan (+42.3%) and Belarus (+24.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Moldova emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +95.3% from 2012-2022. Kazakhstan (+12 p.p.), Belarus (+7.6 p.p.), Armenia (+1.6 p.p.) and Moldova (+1.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Russia saw its share reduced by -23.4% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.
In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest circuit breaker supplier in the CIS, comprising 81% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with a 9.9% share of total exports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with a 5.2% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Russia stood at -1.1%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+19.8% per year) and Kazakhstan (+21.1% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2022, dropping by -5.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a pronounced shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 20%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Armenia ($X per unit), while Kazakhstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Armenia (-0.6%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in CIS
In 2022, after two years of growth, there was decline in overseas purchases of automatic circuit breakers, when their volume decreased by -1.6% to X units. Total imports indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +63.1% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 21% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, circuit breaker imports shrank modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 35%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Russia was the major importer of automatic circuit breakers in the CIS, with the volume of imports finishing at X units, which was approx. 70% of total imports in 2022. Kazakhstan (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Uzbekistan (X units) and Belarus (X units). All these countries together took near 25% share of total imports. Azerbaijan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+21.0%), Azerbaijan (+9.7%) and Kazakhstan (+3.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +21.0% from 2012-2022. Belarus experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Uzbekistan (+9.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Belarus and Russia saw its share reduced by -2.6% and -8.1% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported automatic circuit breakers in the CIS, comprising 66% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 9.6% share.
In Russia, circuit breaker imports shrank by an average annual rate of -1.1% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Kazakhstan (-0.9% per year) and Belarus (+0.9% per year).
