In value terms, exports of boards, sheets, panels, tiles and similar articles of plaster not faced soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports recorded a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 124%. Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per square meter in 2021, surging by 21% against the previous year. Export price indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. After two years of decline, supplies from abroad of boards, sheets, panels, tiles and similar articles of plaster not faced increased by 10% to X square meters in 2021. Overall, imports showed strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 63% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, imports of boards, sheets, panels, tiles and similar articles of plaster not faced surged to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +88.3% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 53% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Russia (X square meters) and Kazakhstan (X square meters) represented the main importers of boards, sheets, panels, tiles and similar articles of plaster not faced in 2021, accounting for approx. 43% and 36% of total imports, respectively. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X square meters), making up a 13% share of total imports. The following importers - Armenia (X square meters) and Azerbaijan (X square meters) - each recorded a 5.8% share of total imports.

In value terms, Russia ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Belarus ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 89% share of total imports. Azerbaijan and Armenia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 7.4%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Armenia, with a CAGR of +20.6%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the CIS stood at $X per square meter in 2021, rising by 5.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 7.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per square meter in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Azerbaijan ($X per square meter), while Kazakhstan ($X per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (-1.3%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
