The CIS braces and garters market reduced to $X in 2022, with a decrease of -7.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the market failed to regain momentum.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 42%. As a result, production attained the peak level of $X. From 2014 to 2022, production growth failed to regain momentum.
Braces And Garters Exports
Exports in CIS
In 2022, the amount of braces, suspenders and garters exported in the CIS declined to X units, shrinking by -5.2% on the previous year's figure. Overall, exports, however, saw resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 74%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, braces and garters exports rose remarkably to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +38.4% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 65% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
Exports by Country
Belarus represented the largest exporter of braces, suspenders and garters in the CIS, with the volume of exports resulting at X units, which was near 65% of total exports in 2022. Russia (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 24% share, followed by Uzbekistan (6%). Kyrgyzstan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Exports from Belarus increased at an average annual rate of +12.3% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+310.6%), Kyrgyzstan (+39.0%) and Russia (+14.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +310.6% from 2012-2022. Uzbekistan (+6 p.p.), Russia (+3.9 p.p.) and Kyrgyzstan (+3.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Belarus ($X) remains the largest braces and garters supplier in the CIS, comprising 78% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Russia ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by Kyrgyzstan, with a 3.4% share.
In Belarus, braces and garters exports expanded at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Russia (+5.3% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (+65.7% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2022, increasing by 21% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a abrupt setback. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per unit), while Uzbekistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kyrgyzstan (+19.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in CIS
In 2022, supplies from abroad of braces, suspenders and garters increased by 6.2% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 103% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, braces and garters imports rose markedly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 38% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Russia represented the largest importer of braces, suspenders and garters in the CIS, with the volume of imports recording X units, which was near 54% of total imports in 2022. Belarus (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 24% share, followed by Azerbaijan (5.8%) and Kazakhstan (4.7%). Moldova (X units), Kyrgyzstan (X units) and Armenia (X units) took a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to braces and garters imports into Russia stood at -3.1%. At the same time, Armenia (+22.3%), Moldova (+17.1%), Belarus (+15.0%) and Azerbaijan (+2.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Armenia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +22.3% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-2.4%) and Kyrgyzstan (-5.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Belarus, Moldova and Armenia increased by +18, +3.4 and +2.2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X), Belarus ($X) and Kazakhstan ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 91% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, which together accounted for a further 8.1%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Moldova, with a CAGR of +19.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2022, increasing by 4.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the import price increased by 77%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while Azerbaijan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kyrgyzstan (+12.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
