The CIS brassiere market soared to $X in 2021, with an increase of 25% against the previous year. Brassiere exports skyrocketed to X units in 2021, with an increase of 28% on the previous year's figure. Overall, exports, however, saw a slight downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 30%. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, brassiere exports soared to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, showed a pronounced curtailment. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
In 2021, Belarus (X units) represented the largest exporter of brassieres of textile materials, whether or not elasticated, comprising 75% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Russia (X units), constituting a 24% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to brassiere exports from Belarus stood at -4.2%. At the same time, Russia (+32.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Russia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +32.2% from 2012-2021. Russia (+22 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Belarus saw its share reduced by -21.5% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.
In value terms, Belarus ($X) remains the largest brassiere supplier in the CIS, comprising 81% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Russia ($X), with an 18% share of total exports.
In Belarus, brassiere exports declined by an average annual rate of -6.0% over the period from 2012-2021.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 4.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 9.8% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per unit), while Russia stood at $X per unit.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (-1.9%).
Brassiere Imports
Imports in CIS
Brassiere imports skyrocketed to X units in 2021, growing by 102% against 2020 figures. Overall, imports saw a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 156%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, brassiere imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Russia (X units), Kyrgyzstan (X units) and Kazakhstan (X units) represented the key importer of brassieres of textile materials, whether or not elasticated in the CIS, constituting 87% of total import. Tajikistan (X units), Azerbaijan (X units), Belarus (X units) and Armenia (X units) held a minor share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Azerbaijan (with a CAGR of +67.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported brassieres of textile materials, whether or not elasticated in the CIS, comprising 63% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by Kyrgyzstan, with a 7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia was relatively modest. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kazakhstan (+20.5% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (+25.3% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2021, with a decrease of -22.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a mild reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 114%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
