In Russia, brewing dregs exports increased at an average annual rate of +9.4% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Moldova (+81.5% per year) and Kazakhstan (+19.8% per year).

In 2022, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, declining by -13.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. In 2022, brewing dregs imports in the CIS skyrocketed to X tons, picking up by 57% on the previous year. In general, imports saw a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 253% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, brewing dregs imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 345%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Russia represented the largest importing country with an import of about X tons, which amounted to 62% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X tons), mixing up a 30% share of total imports. Belarus (X tons) and Azerbaijan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to brewing dregs imports into Russia stood at +6.6%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+35.5%) and Belarus (+12.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +35.5% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Azerbaijan (-7.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Uzbekistan (+30 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Azerbaijan and Russia saw its share reduced by -7.9% and -22% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported brewing or distilling dregs and waste in the CIS, comprising 72% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 6.3% share.
In Russia, brewing dregs imports increased at an average annual rate of +6.2% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Uzbekistan (+15.2% per year) and Belarus (+9.9% per year).
Import Prices by Country
