Azerbaijan represented the largest importer of bromides and bromide oxides, iodides and iodide oxides in the CIS, with the volume of imports reaching X tons, which was approx. 71% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Russia (X tons), mixing up a 26% share of total imports. Belarus (X tons) held a little share of total imports.

In terms of the main importing countries, Belarus, with a CAGR of +3.2%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, falling by -3.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the import price increased by 21% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per ton), while Azerbaijan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+1.7%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
