In 2022, non-electric chainsaw exports in the CIS fell rapidly to X units, shrinking by -53% on 2021 figures. In general, exports, however, recorded a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 593% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X units in 2021, and then declined significantly in the following year.
In value terms, non-electric chainsaw exports reduced rapidly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 153%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.

Russia represented the largest exporter of chainsaws with a self-contained non-electric motor in the CIS, with the volume of exports amounting to X units, which was near 60% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X units), creating a 36% share of total exports. Kazakhstan (X units) held a little share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Russia (with a CAGR of +32.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.
In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest non-electric chainsaw supplier in the CIS, comprising 76% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with a 20% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Russia stood at +21.2%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+25.3% per year) and Kazakhstan (-21.4% per year).

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2022, surging by 28% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the export price increased by 82%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (-5.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2022, approx. X units of chainsaws with a self-contained non-electric motor were imported in the CIS; growing by 3.2% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a mild slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 58%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, non-electric chainsaw imports dropped modestly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 53%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Russia dominates imports structure, recording X units, which was near 81% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X units) and Belarus (X units), together committing a 12% share of total imports. The following importers - Moldova (X units) and Kyrgyzstan (X units) - each reached a 4.5% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to non-electric chainsaw imports into Russia stood at -2.7%. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan (+36.2%), Uzbekistan (+34.0%), Moldova (+8.3%) and Belarus (+2.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kyrgyzstan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +36.2% from 2012-2022. Uzbekistan (+6.8 p.p.) and Kyrgyzstan (+2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Russia saw its share reduced by -13.3% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported chainsaws with a self-contained non-electric motor in the CIS, comprising 83% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 6.9% share of total imports. It was followed by Moldova, with a 2.6% share.
In Russia, non-electric chainsaw imports decreased by an average annual rate of -6.8% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belarus (-3.7% per year) and Moldova (+8.8% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2022, waning by -6.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a noticeable decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the import price increased by 18%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per unit), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
