The CIS clasp knife market dropped to $X in 2022, with a decrease of -4.2% against the previous year. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 9.4%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Armenia ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (-9.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2022, purchases abroad of clasp knives increased by 25% to X units, rising for the seventh consecutive year after three years of decline. Over the period under review, imports posted a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 87% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In value terms, clasp knife imports shrank to $X in 2022. In general, imports posted a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 45% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then reduced in the following year.
