From 2018 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, Russia (X tons) was the largest exporter of cocoa powder (containing added sugar), committing 77% of total exports. Belarus (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 15% share, followed by Kazakhstan (6.8%).

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia amounted to +21.1%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+46.4% per year) and Kazakhstan (+22.6% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 13% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the export price increased by 45% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per ton), while Kazakhstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (-6.6%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in CIS
In 2021, overseas purchases of cocoa powder (containing added sugar) increased by 26% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after three years of decline. Over the period under review, imports showed a moderate expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 141%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, cocoa powder with sugar imports expanded rapidly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a mild curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 149% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
The purchases of the three major importers of cocoa powder (containing added sugar), namely Kazakhstan, Belarus and Russia, represented more than two-thirds of total import. Moldova (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Kyrgyzstan (X tons). All these countries together held near 14% share of total imports. Azerbaijan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Kyrgyzstan (with a CAGR of +28.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest cocoa powder with sugar importing markets in the CIS were Russia ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Belarus ($X), with a combined 76% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Moldova, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan, which together accounted for a further 21%.
Kyrgyzstan, with a CAGR of +23.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, shrinking by -11.4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 22%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Moldova ($X per ton), while Kazakhstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
