Kazakhstan (+47 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+4.8 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Belarus and Russia saw its share reduced by -21.4% and -30% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X), Russia ($X) and Belarus ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 92% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Uzbekistan, which accounted for a further 5.2%.

Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +72.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2022, dropping by -4.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a perceptible reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the import price increased by 27%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
