Exports by Country
In 2021, Russia (X tons) was the major exporter of computing machinery and parts and accessories thereof, committing 67% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons), comprising a 29% share of total exports. Kazakhstan (X tons) took a little share of total exports.
Exports from Russia increased at an average annual rate of +9.0% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Belarus (+20.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest computing machinery supplier in the CIS, comprising 83% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with a 13% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia totaled +12.0%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+19.0% per year) and Kazakhstan (-5.5% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 21% against the previous year. Export price indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, computing machinery export price decreased by -15.5% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the export price increased by 69% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of computing machinery and parts and accessories thereof increased by 5.2% to X tons, rising for the sixth consecutive year after three years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 20% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, computing machinery imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a modest expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +117.0% against 2016 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 38% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Russia (X tons) represented the largest importer of computing machinery and parts and accessories thereof, committing 80% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X tons), constituting an 11% share of total imports. The following importers - Belarus (X tons) and Uzbekistan (X tons) - together made up 5.1% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to computing machinery imports into Russia stood at -3.7%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+17.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +17.2% from 2012-2021. Belarus experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-2.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Russia (-3.3 p.p.) decreased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported computing machinery and parts and accessories thereof in the CIS, comprising 82% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 10% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 3.1% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Russia stood at +1.6%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kazakhstan (+1.8% per year) and Belarus (+0.6% per year).

In 2021, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, growing by 19% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +5.3%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Uzbekistan ($X per ton) and Russia ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) and Kazakhstan ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
