The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 90%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, couscous imports rose significantly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports showed prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 61%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Imports by Country

Russia prevails in imports structure, accounting for X tons, which was near 90% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons), committing a 4.9% share of total imports. Moldova (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.

Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of +27.8% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Belarus (+66.6%) and Moldova (+46.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +66.6% from 2012-2021. In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported couscous in the CIS, comprising 86% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with a 7.1% share of total imports.
