Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then fell notably in the following year.

Uzbekistan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the cow peas (dry) exports, with a CAGR of +14.3% from 2012 to 2022. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Uzbekistan increased by +99 percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Uzbekistan ($X) also remains the largest cow peas supplier in the CIS.

In 2022, approx. X tons of cow peas (dry) were imported in the CIS; remaining constant against 2021 figures. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 203%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, cow peas imports amounted to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 183%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Russia was the largest importer of cow peas (dry) in the CIS, with the volume of imports resulting at X tons, which was approx. 39% of total imports in 2022. Azerbaijan (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 23% share, followed by Kazakhstan (22%), Moldova (7.6%) and Armenia (6.5%).
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Moldova (with a CAGR of +29.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Russia ($X), Azerbaijan ($X) and Kazakhstan ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 87% share of total imports.
Azerbaijan, with a CAGR of +29.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2022, remaining constant against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the import price increased by 40% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2014; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Azerbaijan ($X per ton), while Moldova ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Azerbaijan (+12.4%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
