In value terms, Russia ($X) and Belarus ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Russia, with a CAGR of -3.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review.

In 2021, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, which is down by -11.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 170% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit, and then fell in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Belarus amounted to $X per unit.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+24.8%).

In 2021, supplies from abroad of truck cranes increased by 81% to X units, rising for the fifth consecutive year after four years of decline. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, truck crane imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 104%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Russia dominates imports structure, resulting at X units, which was near 86% of total imports in 2021. The following importers - Azerbaijan (X units), Kazakhstan (X units), Armenia (X units) and Belarus (X units) - together made up 11% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to truck crane imports into Russia stood at -1.4%. At the same time, Armenia (+13.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Armenia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +13.3% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-2.2%), Belarus (-12.2%) and Azerbaijan (-13.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Russia increased by +8.1 percentage points. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported truck cranes in the CIS, comprising 62% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 22% share of total imports. It was followed by Azerbaijan, with a 1.8% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Russia totaled -2.7%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Kazakhstan (-5.8% per year) and Azerbaijan (-16.6% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -3.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the import price increased by 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while Armenia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Armenia (-0.7%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
