The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by 44%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Russia dominates exports structure, accounting for X tons, which was approx. 84% of total exports in 2022. Moldova (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Kazakhstan (X tons). All these countries together took near 15% share of total exports.

Imports in CIS
Crude sunflower-seed and safflower oil imports soared to X tons in 2022, picking up by 24% on the previous year's figure. Total imports indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +15.0% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 68% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In 2022, Kazakhstan (X tons) and Uzbekistan (X tons) represented the key importers of crude sunflower-seed and safflower oil in the CIS, together finishing at near 50% of total imports. Azerbaijan (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Tajikistan (X tons), Moldova (X tons) and Belarus (X tons). All these countries together held near 45% share of total imports. Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, surging by 14% against the previous year. Import price indicated a modest expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, crude sunflower-seed and safflower oil import price increased by +91.4% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 53%.
