From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Russia (X units) and Belarus (X units) dominates exports structure, together making up 90% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X units), achieving a 6.2% share of total exports. Azerbaijan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Azerbaijan (with a CAGR of +43.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest desktop computer supplier in the CIS, comprising 79% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 17% share of total exports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with a 3.2% share.

In Russia, desktop computer exports expanded at an average annual rate of +23.3% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+11.3% per year) and Kazakhstan (-5.4% per year).

In 2021, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 6.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the export price increased by 95% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Kazakhstan (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with an 11% share, followed by Uzbekistan (7.4%), Belarus (7.1%) and Azerbaijan (4.6%). Armenia (X units) and Moldova (X units) held a minor share of total imports.

Imports into Russia decreased at an average annual rate of -8.3% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+71.6%), Belarus (+21.9%), Moldova (+14.1%), Azerbaijan (+7.9%) and Kazakhstan (+1.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +71.6% from 2012-2021. Armenia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Uzbekistan, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan increased by +7.4, +6.3, +5 and +3.1 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported desktop computers in the CIS, comprising 76% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 7.5% share of total imports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with a 6.9% share.

In Russia, desktop computer imports increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Uzbekistan (+55.8% per year) and Kazakhstan (+1.2% per year).

The import price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2021, falling by -1.8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the import price increased by 40%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Moldova ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
