It was distantly followed by Belarus (X units), constituting an 11% share of total exports. Uzbekistan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from Russia decreased at an average annual rate of -4.2% from 2012 to 2021. Belarus experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Uzbekistan (-5.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In 2021, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, shrinking by -2.7% against the previous year. Export price indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, diode export price increased by +35.8% against 2017 indices. Over the period under review, imports saw a temperate increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 77% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, diode imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports posted a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 42%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

Russia represented the key importing country with an import of around X units, which resulted at 68% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X units), mixing up a 26% share of total imports. Kazakhstan (X units) and Moldova (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Kazakhstan (+15.8%) and Belarus (+2.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kazakhstan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +15.8% from 2012-2021. Moldova experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Kazakhstan (+1.8 p.p.) and Russia (+1.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Belarus saw its share reduced by -3.4% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported diodes, other than photosensitive or light emitting diodes in the CIS, comprising 88% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with an 8% share of total imports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with a 1.4% share.
