Dolomite Market Size in CIS

The CIS dolomite market was finally on the rise to reach $X in 2021, after two years of decline. In general, consumption continues to indicate a buoyant increase. Belarus represented the key exporting country with an export of around X tons, which accounted for 61% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Russia (X tons), making up a 39% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Belarus (with a CAGR of +26.7%).

In value terms, Russia ($X) and Belarus ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021.

Among the main exporting countries, Belarus, with a CAGR of +19.3%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review.

In 2021, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 14% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a deep slump. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Belarus stood at $X per ton.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (-2.1%).

Dolomite Imports

Imports in CIS

Dolomite imports surged to X tons in 2021, rising by 38% on the previous year's figure. Total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 51%. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, dolomite imports rose markedly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a mild descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 35% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. In 2021, Azerbaijan (X tons) and Kazakhstan (X tons) represented the main importers of dolomite in the CIS, together finishing at near 61% of total imports. Russia (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Belarus (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 33% share of total imports. Uzbekistan (X tons) and Moldova (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.

Azerbaijan, with a CAGR of +35.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2021, waning by -17.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 10%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Kazakhstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Moldova (+8.8%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
