In 2021, exports of dryers for the treatment of agricultural products in the CIS dropped dramatically to X units, which is down by -23.2% compared with 2020. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 193%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

In value terms, agricultural product dryer exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when exports increased by 98% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Russia represented the largest exporter of dryers for the treatment of agricultural products in the CIS, with the volume of exports accounting for X units, which was near 65% of total exports in 2021. Belarus (X units) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X units). All these countries together held near 33% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to agricultural product dryer exports from Russia stood at +20.4%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+28.4%) and Belarus (+17.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +28.4% from 2012-2021. Russia (+11 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+2.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest agricultural product dryer supplier in the CIS, comprising 63% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with a 27% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia stood at +10.3%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Belarus (+8.4% per year) and Uzbekistan (+52.5% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2021, with an increase of 69% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a abrupt setback. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+17.9%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

For the third year in a row, the CIS recorded growth in overseas purchases of dryers for the treatment of agricultural products, which increased by 9.9% to X units in 2021. In general, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 61%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

In value terms, agricultural product dryer imports expanded significantly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a noticeable shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 37% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Russia represented the key importing country with an import of about X units, which recorded 58% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X units), Uzbekistan (X units), Moldova (X units) and Kazakhstan (X units), together committing a 40% share of total imports.

Russia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of dryers for the treatment of agricultural products. At the same time, Moldova (+13.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Moldova emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +13.1% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Belarus (-1.3%), Uzbekistan (-4.6%) and Kazakhstan (-6.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Uzbekistan (+11 p.p.) and Moldova (+6.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan saw its share reduced by -2.4%, -2.9% and -5.9% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported dryers for the treatment of agricultural products in the CIS, comprising 59% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Uzbekistan, with an 11% share.

In Russia, agricultural product dryer imports plunged by an average annual rate of -5.9% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kazakhstan (-0.7% per year) and Uzbekistan (-20.0% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, standing approx. at the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a perceptible curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the import price increased by 14% against the previous year.
