In 2022, industrial, laboratory or bakery oven exports in the CIS shrank rapidly to X units, waning by -92.1% against the year before. Overall, exports faced a precipitous shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 69% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, industrial, laboratory or bakery oven exports contracted rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, exports recorded a precipitous shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 63%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Belarus represented the largest exporter of industrial, laboratory or bakery ovens in the CIS, with the volume of exports finishing at X units, which was near 59% of total exports in 2022. Armenia (X units) held an 18% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Moldova (12%) and Kazakhstan (6.7%). Uzbekistan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to industrial, laboratory or bakery oven exports from Belarus stood at +1.5%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+29.7%), Moldova (+16.3%) and Kazakhstan (+8.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +29.7% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Armenia (-15.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Belarus, Moldova, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan increased by +55, +12, +12, +6.5 and +2.7 percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Belarus ($X) remains the largest industrial, laboratory or bakery oven supplier in the CIS, comprising 72% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by Armenia, with a 6.8% share.

In Belarus, industrial, laboratory or bakery oven exports expanded at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kazakhstan (+10.7% per year) and Armenia (-3.3% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 60% against the previous year. Export price indicated mild growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, industrial, laboratory or bakery oven export price increased by +63.4% against 2019 indices. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while Armenia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+19.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of industrial, laboratory or bakery ovens decreased by -12.8% to X units for the first time since 2016, thus ending a five-year rising trend. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 67% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

In value terms, industrial, laboratory or bakery oven imports dropped slightly to $X in 2022. In general, imports showed a slight shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 44%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Russia prevails in imports structure, accounting for X units, which was near 82% of total imports in 2022. Kazakhstan (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 7.1% share, followed by Uzbekistan (5.2%). The following importers - Armenia (X units) and Belarus (X units) - each reached a 3.2% share of total imports.

Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of +12.6% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Armenia (+34.1%), Uzbekistan (+18.9%), Kazakhstan (+14.6%) and Belarus (+2.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Armenia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +34.1% from 2012-2022. Uzbekistan (+5.2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Belarus and Russia saw its share reduced by -2.8% and -4.2% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 82%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2016 to 2022, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per unit), while Armenia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (-5.3%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
