The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 16%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In value terms, electrical circuit apparatus exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +69.5% against 2016 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 22%. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 17% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, electrical circuit apparatus imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a slight reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 30% against the previous year. Russia dominates imports structure, reaching X tons, which was near 66% of total imports in 2021. Belarus (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with an 8% share, followed by Uzbekistan (7%) and Kazakhstan (9.8%). The following importers - Moldova (X tons) and Azerbaijan (X tons) - each amounted to a 6% share of total imports.

Imports into Russia decreased at an average annual rate of -1.7% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+12.4%), Belarus (+7.2%), Moldova (+5.3%) and Azerbaijan (+1.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +12.4% from 2012-2021. Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Uzbekistan (+4.6 p.p.) and Belarus (+3.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Russia saw its share reduced by -10.8% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported electrical apparatus for circuit connection, switching and protection in the CIS, comprising 75% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 7.8% share of total imports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with a 5.9% share.

In Russia, electrical circuit apparatus imports declined by an average annual rate of -1.8% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Belarus (+4.7% per year) and Kazakhstan (-3.2% per year).
