The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Total exports indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +102.7% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 24%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Belarus was the largest exporting country with an export of about X tons, which accounted for 86% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Russia (X tons), generating a 13% share of total exports.

Belarus was also the fastest-growing in terms of the extruded solid rubber rods and profiles exports, with a CAGR of +6.6% from 2012 to 2022. Russia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Belarus (+9.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Russia saw its share reduced by -9.3% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, Belarus ($X) remains the largest extruded solid rubber rod supplier in the CIS, comprising 85% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Russia ($X), with a 14% share of total exports.

The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Belarus totaled $X per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (-0.8%).

Imports in CIS

In 2022, imports of extruded solid rubber rods and profiles in the CIS fell to X tons, which is down by -2.5% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports recorded a slight downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 26%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, extruded solid rubber rod imports shrank modestly to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a pronounced curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 35% against the previous year. Imports into Russia decreased at an average annual rate of -3.6% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Tajikistan (+20.0%), Kazakhstan (+7.1%), Uzbekistan (+4.9%) and Belarus (+3.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Tajikistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +20.0% from 2012-2022. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Kazakhstan, Belarus, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan increased by +9.7, +3, +2.3 and +1.9 percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported extruded solid rubber rods and profiles in the CIS, comprising 65% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with an 8.9% share.

In Russia, extruded solid rubber rod imports plunged by an average annual rate of -7.0% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Kazakhstan (+7.4% per year) and Belarus (-0.8% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, declining by -2.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a pronounced downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 16% against the previous year. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Tajikistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+8.5%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
