For the third year in a row, the CIS plastic extruder market recorded growth in sales value, which increased by 23% to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, consumption, however, recorded a pronounced downturn. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of the market remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, falling by -36% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a abrupt slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the export price increased by 56% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Moldova ($X per unit), while Kazakhstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Azerbaijan (+9.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, plastic extruder imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 941% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Russia represented the major importing country with an import of around X units, which finished at 66% of total imports. Uzbekistan (X units) held a 16% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Kazakhstan (9.8%). Belarus (X units) and Moldova (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+57.4%), Moldova (+20.6%), Belarus (+12.4%) and Kazakhstan (+1.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +57.4% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Uzbekistan and Belarus increased by +16 and +2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported extruders for working rubber or plastics in the CIS, comprising 80% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 9.3% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 4.9% share.

In Russia, plastic extruder imports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Uzbekistan (-6.2% per year) and Belarus (+2.8% per year).
