Russia represented the key exporting country with an export of around X units, which accounted for 71% of total exports. Belarus (X units) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X units). All these countries together held near 28% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to fire-fighting vehicle exports from Russia stood at +7.5%. At the same time, Belarus (+41.3%) and Uzbekistan (+34.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Belarus, with a CAGR of +47.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, remaining constant against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the export price increased by 11%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+8.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in CIS

In 2021, the amount of fire-fighting vehicles imported in the CIS skyrocketed to X units, rising by 49% compared with the year before. In general, imports, however, saw a noticeable setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 57%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, fire-fighting vehicle imports dropped to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 105%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Azerbaijan (X units) was the major importer of fire-fighting vehicles, generating 46% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X units), Kazakhstan (X units), Tajikistan (X units), Moldova (X units) and Russia (X units), together making up a 53% share of total imports.

Imports into Azerbaijan increased at an average annual rate of +12.8% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Moldova (+24.1%), Tajikistan (+16.0%) and Belarus (+12.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Moldova emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +24.1% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-12.3%) and Russia (-22.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Azerbaijan (+34 p.p.), Belarus (+12 p.p.), Tajikistan (+8.7 p.p.) and Moldova (+7.2 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Kazakhstan (-16.4 p.p.) and Russia (-44.6 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Azerbaijan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported fire-fighting vehicles in the CIS, comprising 44% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Russia ($X), with a 19% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 15% share.

In Azerbaijan, fire-fighting vehicle imports increased at an average annual rate of +10.8% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Russia (-20.8% per year) and Belarus (+2.9% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, waning by -41.6% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the import price increased by 30% against the previous year. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Kazakhstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
