In 2022, Belarus (X units) was the main exporter of flexographic printing machinery, making up 61% of total exports. In value terms, Belarus ($X) remains the largest flexographic printing machinery supplier in the CIS, comprising 59% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Armenia ($X), with a 24% share of total exports. It was followed by Uzbekistan, with a 7.6% share.

In Belarus, flexographic printing machinery exports expanded at an average annual rate of +34.6% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Armenia (-5.3% per year) and Uzbekistan (+278.1% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2022, reducing by -7.9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, posted a moderate expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the export price increased by 91%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Flexographic printing machinery imports skyrocketed to X units in 2022, jumping by 17% on the previous year's figure. Total imports indicated a mild increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +24.3% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 65%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, flexographic printing machinery imports rose rapidly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 54%. Azerbaijan (+14 p.p.), Armenia (+10 p.p.), Uzbekistan (+9.4 p.p.) and Kazakhstan (+4.3 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Russia saw its share reduced by -20.5% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported flexographic printing machinery in the CIS, comprising 69% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with a 7.2% share.

In Russia, flexographic printing machinery imports decreased by an average annual rate of -4.3% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Uzbekistan (+45.5% per year) and Kazakhstan (+14.0% per year).
