The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 36% against the previous year. As a result, production reached the peak level of $X. From 2015 to 2021, production growth failed to regain momentum.

Exports in CIS
In 2021, exports of fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodines in the CIS fell sharply to X tons, with a decrease of -24.5% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 65% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodine exports reduced modestly to $X in 2021. In general, exports saw a pronounced decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by 36%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Russia was the largest exporter of fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodines in the CIS, with the volume of exports recording X tons, which was approx. 61% of total exports in 2021. Uzbekistan (X tons) held a 21% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Moldova (12%). Azerbaijan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Exports from Russia decreased at an average annual rate of -3.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Moldova (+331.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Moldova emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +331.6% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Azerbaijan (-2.3%) and Uzbekistan (-16.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Uzbekistan and Moldova increased by +21 and +12 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Azerbaijan ($X) remains the largest fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodine supplier in the CIS, comprising 63% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Russia ($X), with a 27% share of total exports. It was followed by Moldova, with a 6.3% share.
In Azerbaijan, fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodine exports shrank by an average annual rate of -3.3% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Russia (-6.1% per year) and Moldova (+197.4% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 28% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 56%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Azerbaijan ($X per ton), while Uzbekistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+5.3%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in CIS
In 2021, approx. X tons of fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodines were imported in the CIS; reducing by -21.3% against the previous year. Overall, imports continue to indicate a abrupt contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 50% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

It was distantly followed by Armenia (X tons), Azerbaijan (X tons) and Belarus (X tons), together committing a 50% share of total imports. Kazakhstan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Imports into Russia decreased at an average annual rate of -8.0% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Armenia (+26.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Armenia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +26.4% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Belarus (-9.7%), Kazakhstan (-13.6%) and Azerbaijan (-23.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Armenia (+21 p.p.), Russia (+16 p.p.) and Belarus (+2.9 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Azerbaijan saw its share reduced by -37% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodines in the CIS, comprising 80% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 4.5% share of total imports. It was followed by Azerbaijan, with a 4.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Russia totaled +3.0%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belarus (-1.9% per year) and Azerbaijan (-9.8% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, rising by 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price posted buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 65% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per ton), while Armenia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Azerbaijan (+17.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
