The volume of export peaked at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, exports of forage harvesters and other harvesting machines soared to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, showed a pronounced slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by 47% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Belarus (X units) and Russia (X units) prevails in machines structure, together constituting 96% of total exports. Kazakhstan (X units) took a little share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Kazakhstan (with a CAGR of +24.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.
In value terms, Belarus ($X) remains the largest forage harvesters and other harvesting machines supplier in the CIS, comprising 64% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Russia ($X), with a 30% share of total exports.
In Belarus, exports of forage harvesters and other harvesting machines declined by an average annual rate of -7.9% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Russia (+5.7% per year) and Kazakhstan (+23.3% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 5.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a noticeable decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the export price increased by 57%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per unit), while Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (-0.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in CIS
For the third consecutive year, the CIS recorded growth in supplies from abroad of forage harvesters and other harvesting machines, which increased by 52% to X units in 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 84% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, imports of forage harvesters and other harvesting machines soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports recorded a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 111%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Russia prevails in machines structure, accounting for X units, which was near 82% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X units), creating a 9.1% share of total imports. The following importers - Belarus (X units) and Moldova (X units) - each recorded a 6.2% share of total imports.
Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of +8.8% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Moldova (+27.7%), Kazakhstan (+11.3%) and Belarus (+2.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Moldova emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +27.7% from 2012-2021. Moldova (+2.2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Belarus and Russia saw its share reduced by -2.3% and -2.7% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported forage harvesters and other harvesting machines in the CIS, comprising 75% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 7.2% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia stood at +5.4%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kazakhstan (+12.6% per year) and Belarus (+0.0% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2021, reducing by -19.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 15% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per unit), while Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+1.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
