Furnace Burner Market Size in CIS

In 2021, the CIS furnace burner market increased by 75% to $X for the first time since 2017, thus ending a three-year declining trend. The total consumption indicated slight growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. In 2021, approx. X tons of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers were exported in the CIS; rising by 3% against 2020. In general, exports, however, recorded a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 68% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, furnace burner exports shrank notably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a deep setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 129%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Russia represented the key exporter of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers in the CIS, with the volume of exports accounting for X tons, which was approx. 81% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons), mixing up a 17% share of total exports.

Total imports indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Russia represented the major importer of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers in the CIS, with the volume of imports finishing at X tons, which was approx. 76% of total imports in 2021. Kazakhstan (X tons) took a 13% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Uzbekistan (6.7%). Belarus (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+60.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +60.6% from 2012-2021. Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Belarus (-3.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Uzbekistan (+6.5 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Belarus (-1.8 p.p.) and Kazakhstan (-2.4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
